Israeli Strikes Kill Thirteen in Southern Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

(MENAFN) A new series of Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon on Tuesday killed at least 13 people and injured 31 others, in what local authorities described as a fresh violation of a ceasefire agreement, coming just a day after fighting between Israel and Iran was halted.

According to reports, among the dead was a 16-year-old boy killed in a drone strike in the town of Haboush.

A Lebanese news agency said an Israeli strike on a public housing area in Tyre killed at least nine people and left 28 injured.

One more person was killed in an airstrike targeting a farm in the town of Adshit in the Nabatieh district, according to reports.

In another incident, drones struck the Al-Marj neighborhood in Kfar Rumman at dawn, killing two people.

Additional airstrikes were reported in several other towns in the Tyre region, including Deir Qanoun, Ras al-Ain, al-Ramadiyah, and al-Abbasiyah, although casualty details were not immediately confirmed.

According to reports, two successive drone strikes hit near the Husseini Club in Sharqiyah within minutes of each other, injuring three people, including two members of Lebanon’s Civil Defense.

“Civil Defense teams worked to extract and provide first aid to an injured person following a drone strike on a vehicle when a second strike hit,” the agency said in a statement.
