Malaysia’s King Visits Moscow for World War II Victory Commemoration

(MENAFN) Sultan Ibrahim arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to participate in ceremonies marking the 81st anniversary of victory in World War II.

His arrival was broadcast live by a Russian news agency, highlighting the start of his official participation in the commemorative events.

Upon landing, the Malaysian monarch was received by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, along with Igor Bogdashev, head of the State Protocol Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The visit underscores ongoing diplomatic engagement between Malaysia and Russia, with Sultan Ibrahim having last visited the country in January. During that trip, he met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.

This latest visit adds to a series of high-level exchanges between the two countries, as Moscow hosts international guests for the annual World War II victory commemorations.
