Colombian Military Plane Crashes in South, Killing at Least Sixty-Six
The Hercules C-130, which had 114 army personnel and 11 crew members on board, crashed shortly after departing from Puerto Leguizamo in Putumayo.
President Gustavo Petro stated that the cause of the crash remains unknown.
Authorities are actively responding to the incident and working to determine what led to the tragedy, while the Defense Ministry has implemented all necessary protocols to support victims and their families.
"I express my most sincere condolences to the families of those affected and, out of respect for their grief, I urge avoiding speculation until official information is available," Defense Minister Pedro Sanchez said.
